Since its launch on June 5th, 2026, the Nintendo Switch 2 has settled comfortably into many households. Pokémon Pokopia even managed to convince a fresh wave of players to take the plunge. But for many, there was one thing worth waiting for above all else: the first Switch 2 collector’s edition. All eyes had naturally turned to the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake and the franchise’s 40th anniversary, a saga powerful enough to shift entire pallets of hardware on its own. Nintendo was never going to pass up that opportunity. Hot on the heels of the Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 collector’s edition announcement, the first images of a Zelda-themed Nintendo Switch 2 special edition have leaked ahead of any official reveal.
The Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 collector’s edition has leaked
Everyone was patiently waiting for an official announcement of the console’s first special edition, and then these photos surfaced on ResetEra. Just as several leakers had predicted, the Nintendo Switch 2 is indeed getting a Zelda makeover to mark the franchise’s 40th anniversary. A collector’s edition is reportedly in the works, complete with a Pro Controller clearly inspired by the Triforce, trading the standard black for a deep, rich green that looks genuinely striking, accented with gold detailing and, naturally, a Triforce emblem.
The Joy-Con controllers for this first Nintendo Switch 2 collector’s edition reportedly feature a soft aqua green with gold trim, stamped with the series’ iconic symbols. The dock carries the same triangular gold motifs as the controllers, with a large Triforce taking center stage. It’s a refined, cohesive color palette that feels perfectly on-theme, and one that should be more than enough to persuade a few fence-sitters to open their wallets. The packaging, however, appears to make no mention of a bundle including the Nintendo Switch 2 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, suggesting the game may be sold separately.
All that’s left now is to wait for Nintendo to make it official, most likely during a dedicated Nintendo Direct. That will be the moment to finally answer the two biggest remaining questions: the release date, and above all, the price.
