“After All These Years, It’s Finally Happening!” GTA 6 Breaks Its Silence, Revealing a Date That Could Reshape the Industry and One of Its Most Iconic Elements

Summer is on its way, and with it, one of the most significant moments of the year for the industry. Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick had already set expectations: GTA 6‘s marketing campaign would kick off right alongside what’s shaping up to be a particularly scorching summer. Before fully ramping up its communication machine, which promises to be relentless once it gets going, Rockstar is laying the first groundwork. GTA 6 is gradually breaking its silence with two anticipated reveals.

GTA 6 unveils its cover art and confirms a pre-order date

Let’s get the disappointment out of the way first: the third trailer, expected to finally show off gameplay, is still to come. That said, it’s hard to separate this franchise from its now-iconic cover art, and GTA 6’s has finally been revealed, naturally featuring Jason and Lucia front and center. It’s also an opportunity for Rockstar to tease some of the game’s other characters, showcased on the official site, including Cal Hampton.

Motorcycles, helicopters, boats, the imagery firmly sets the scene for Vice City, and by extension, Florida. Worth noting too: the studio has dropped a small taste of the game’s main theme in this brief teaser. And for those still waiting on a gameplay reveal, that wait shouldn’t drag on much longer.

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 6 pre-orders will officially open on June 25th, next week. It’s entirely possible the studio will share more details about the most anticipated game of the decade on that same date. And in case there was still any doubt, yes, GTA 6 is indeed launching on November 19th on PS5 and Xbox Series. No delays on the horizon, then, though pricing remains a different story entirely.

The publisher continues to stay silent on one of the biggest unknowns surrounding its next blockbuster, one that has both players and the industry holding their breath: the price tag. We’ll find out next week whether another milestone is about to be reached, one that could change the industry forever, as other publishers wait to see whether Rockstar will set a new price point for them to follow.
