Since its launch in 2022, Gran Turismo 7 has been in a state of continuous improvement, building a loyal and dedicated community in the process. With Forza Horizon 6 set to hit the track next month on PC and Xbox Series, Polyphony Digital shows no signs of easing up on its own racing gem. Every month, the Japanese studio rolls out a major update packed with free content, new cars, Scapes, menus, tracks, and fresh challenges. April is no exception, and the shape of the next patch is already beginning to come into focus.

A new major update is coming to Gran Turismo 7

It’s confirmed: the next GT7 update is landing later this week. Veteran players will be well acquainted with Kazunori Yamauchi’s little ritual, ahead of every patch reveal, the legendary series creator drops a few cryptic hints, giving seasoned drivers a tantalizing preview while leaving them to do the detective work. Three new free cars are once again on the way with the next Gran Turismo 7 update, expected to drop on April 23rd if the studio sticks to its usual schedule.

The internet’s detectives got to work quickly, attempting to identify the cars hiding under the covers in Yamauchi’s teaser image. One arrival appears certain: the Yangwang U9 Xtreme is heading to the game. The other two remain harder to pin down, current speculation points to one of the many variants of the Porsche 911 Type 994, and an iconic piece of French automotive history: a Renault Twingo, though the exact model hasn’t been confirmed.

When will the next GT7 update be available?

Alongside the three new free cars, the April 2026 Gran Turismo 7 update will bring the usual complement of fixes and adjustments, plus new Scapes for photographing your favorite cars, fresh menus, and new races. The full patch contents will be officially revealed in the coming days, most likely on Wednesday, April 22nd, with the update itself rolling out the following day.
