Rumors have been swirling around Starfield in recent days, fueled by reports from multiple insiders claiming they’ve seen a major update in action. According to these accounts, the update could address many of the game’s shortcomings across all platforms and even introduce structural changes to the experience. One well-known community insider now believes that an official announcement is imminent, and that it may involve a PS5 version of the game.
Bethesda Reportedly Planning a Major Starfield Announcement
The information comes from Shinobi602, an insider generally regarded as reliable. A few days ago, he shared both good and bad news regarding Starfield. On the downside, he revealed that the game was originally expected to appear during the most recent Nintendo Direct for its Switch version, but that plan was ultimately postponed. On the positive side, he claimed that a PS5 version of Starfield is currently in development. While players were discussing the game on the ResetEra forum, Shinobi602 dropped a brief but telling comment that may hint at the timing of the announcement. “Since this keeps coming up, that’s all next month”, he wrote.
Many fans had expected Starfield to show up during the State of Play scheduled for February 12, 2026. However, Shinobi602 had already suggested that the game would not be featured during the event, without offering further clarification. His latest remarks now imply that any official news may arrive later, possibly in March. For now, it’s unclear what Bethesda’s announcement will actually include. It could be a straightforward PS5 port, the long-rumored large-scale overhaul, a new paid expansion, or something else entirely. As always, these rumors should be treated with caution, but if the leak proves accurate, Starfield fans won’t have to wait much longer for answers.
