Love Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley? You Must Watch Everbloom

Both Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley have long defined the cozy-simulation genre, and their influence continues to inspire new games. Some even combine the best elements of both, hinting at what could become the ultimate cozy game. One such title is already turning heads, and it might be worth keeping an eye on its release.

Could this be the ultimate game for fans of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley?

On one hand, Animal Crossing immerses players in a charming world where you, the only human around, live among anthropomorphic animals and forge friendships. On the other hand, Stardew Valley offers a deeper, more activity-packed experience like decorating your farm, interacting with townsfolk, exploring dungeons, and maybe even finding love. Now imagine a game that blends a bit of both.

Everbloom, an indie project from Torbie Studio, was first announced in August 2024. It flew under the radar for a while but recently caught attention on social media thanks to the trend, “You’ll like this indie game if you’ve played these titles.” The studio cites Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and Dinkum as inspirations.

The game promises a farming experience in the vein of Stardew Valley, with a cozy, charming aesthetic reminiscent of Animal Crossing, and 3D cartoon-style graphics similar to Dinkum. Players can take on the role of an adorable animal tasked with running a farm: cultivating crops, raising animals, and exploring the surrounding world. Even better, Everbloom can be played solo or cooperatively online with up to four players. While there’s no release date yet, you can add it to your Steam wishlist now to stay up to date on all announcements.
