With 34 million copies sold in just two years, Hogwarts Legacy has firmly established itself as one of the most successful video games in recent years. As excitement builds for the inevitable announcement of Hogwarts Legacy 2, Warner Bros. has confirmed that the sequel is in development at Avalanche Software. New job listings for the studio provide fresh insight into the direction of the game, offering reassurance to fans concerned about the future of the franchise.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 May Not Be an MMORPG After All
In recent months, a number of job openings have surfaced at Avalanche’s Salt Lake City studio, sparking speculation and concern among Hogwarts Legacy fans. One of the main fears was that the studio might be steering Hogwarts Legacy 2 towards an MMORPG model, a direction that many fans have explicitly expressed they don’t want. Fortunately, the latest job listings appear to ease these concerns. None of them mention multiplayer features, and all suggest that the focus remains on a single-player experience.
For example, Avalanche is currently seeking an executive producer, with the job description emphasizing the role’s responsibility for “producing a high-quality single-player Action-Adventure RPG.” Applicants are also encouraged to have a genuine passion for the Harry Potter universe, further solidifying the connection to the iconic franchise. A second listing seeks an animator, explicitly referencing Hogwarts Legacy. The job description highlights that the new hire will be joining “the team that created Hogwarts Legacy” to work on “a new open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world.”
Once again, there’s no mention of multiplayer, reinforcing the idea that this project is Hogwarts Legacy 2. These job postings go a long way in reassuring fans about the future direction of the franchise. While development is still in its early stages, there’s no sign that Avalanche is shifting toward an MMORPG model for Hogwarts Legacy 2.

More Harry Potter Games on the Way?
In addition, Warner Bros. has posted a third job listing for a brand and marketing product manager. This role will involve overseeing the development, management, and execution of marketing strategies “for PC/console titles within the Harry Potter universe.” The successful candidate will play a key role not only in Hogwarts Legacy 2 but also in several other Harry Potter-related projects currently in the works.
With the first game’s tremendous success and the upcoming Harry Potter TV series from HBO, Warner Bros. is clearly committed to expanding the franchise. This could lead to a range of new titles in the coming years, each exploring different facets of the magical universe. Only time will tell.

there have been hopes for hogwats legacy 2 to be the multiplayer co-op instead of being single player only
To be honest, I’ve seen majority of the fans want a continuation of the hogwarts legacy plot. They don’t want a repeated Harry Potter book/movie plot.
They want to romance character, have consequences with their answer choices like the games ‘the walking dead’ or ‘Detroit: become human’ and, what happens with the character,’Sebastian Sallow’.
After I played the game, I have to agree with them.
Thry’ll lose MOST of their sales if it goes multiplayer
