This Free App Now Lets You Swipe Through Your Games Like Tinder

The number of games releasing every single day, from the tiniest indie on a shoestring budget to the AAA blockbuster with a nine-figure production cost, has been growing at a staggering pace for years. Our backlogs keep expanding at an almost alarming rate, leaving us with dozens, sometimes hundreds of games we’ve never launched or barely touched. One developer has decided to lean into that very phenomenon, building a free app that borrows Tinder’s iconic interface to help us look at our libraries, specifically Steam, in a whole new way.

Dust off your Steam library with this Tinder-style app

Independent developer tolgatr0n has created a Tinder-style app that’s been quietly going viral, offering a genuinely original way to revisit your Steam library. Aptly named Dustpile, it lets you “match” with all those games literally gathering dust on Valve’s platform. Just like Tinder, you can browse the games you’ve never launched, or those you’ve only played for a handful of hours, and swipe right or left on each card to indicate whether you’re giving it another shot or cutting it loose for good.

Each card cleverly mirrors Tinder’s interface, displaying the game’s cover art, genre tags, price, Metacritic score, review excerpts, trailer screenshots, and HowLongToBeat estimates, giving you everything you need to make a quick decision without ever having to visit the store page. Swipe right to keep a game on your radar, swipe left to let it go.

To get started, Dustpile, or “Tinder for your neglected Steam games,” as fans have taken to calling it, simply asks for your Steam profile link. No account creation required, though your profile does need to be set to public. From there, you can choose which games to display as cards based on your playtime, or filter for titles you’ve never launched at all. A genuinely clever concept, and entirely free, well worth a look if curiosity gets the better of you.

I made Tinder for your Steam Backlog
byu/tolgatr0n inIndieGaming

Source: Dustpile

[1
153,132
post-73099","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-backlog","tag-gaming","generate-columns","tablet-grid-50","mobile-grid-100","grid-parent","grid-33
["GET
