Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced<\/a> is already well on its way to going down in gaming history as the industry’s worst-kept secret. Revealed years ago, it was subsequently the subject of leak after leak, each one gradually peeling back the mystery surrounding it. That’s all in the past now, the remake has finally stepped into the light to a thoroughly enthusiastic reception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between its visual and technical overhaul, gameplay refinements, reworked weather system, and naval combat that draws on Ubisoft Singapore’s hard-won expertise following the turbulent development of Skull & Bones, the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake has every ingredient to become the standout release of the summer. And as if it needed another selling point, it turns out there’s one more card hidden in the hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ubisoft pulled out all the stops for the official unveiling of AC Black Flag Resynced, a polished, extensive presentation, gameplay footage that plunged us back into the Caribbean, well-showcased new features, and a collector’s edition that sold out almost immediately at several retailers. You might have thought the French publisher had played its full hand. It had one card left. The complete map of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has now been revealed, and longtime fans were quick to notice a detail that has gone down very well indeed. “You have to give Ubisoft credit here, they really did things properly,” wrote more than one veteran player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Almost everything is faithfully preserved: the handwritten aesthetic of the map, the main ports and open-world hubs, major cities like Havana, Nassau, and Kingston, and the 50 smaller islands Edward Kenway can dock at and explore. But look a little closer, and something stands out. Previously paywalled islands, content that was locked behind paid DLC or special editions at the time of the original release, are all included in the base game. While the narrative expansions such as Freedom Cry are absent, Sacrifice Island, Black Island, and Mystery Island will all be part of the core experience. This also hints at a few further surprises Ubisoft may have up its sleeve, including Captain Morgan’s outfit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will the map be bigger?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As for the overall size of the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced map, it will remain broadly similar to the original. Ubisoft appears to have taken care to enrich it with new activities and adjustments designed to make it even more captivating than it was a decade ago. The open world of the original AC Black Flag was already considered a reference point, with its vast ocean expanses, breathtaking landscapes, and seemingly endless opportunities for exploration.
