And that’s not even counting FFX, which the publisher clearly hasn’t forgotten either.

FFX gears up for its 25th anniversary with some exciting surprises

For this legendary PS2-era JRPG, still one of the most beloved entries in the entire franchise, 2026 is anything but an ordinary year. It marks the game’s 25th anniversary, with the official celebration set for July 19th. Square Enix is naturally getting a head start on marking the occasion properly, launching a dedicated anniversary website that already promises plenty of surprises for both longtime FFX fans and collectors alike.

« We have prepared various events to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported us over the years,» the publisher confirmed (translated from japanese), taking the opportunity to unveil a first wave of announcements. Leading the charge is a new range of merchandise: plush toys modeled after FFX characters, available through the official Square Enix store. Priced between ¥4,400 and ¥4,620 (roughly $29–$31), they’re slated to release in July.

Alongside those, two new books are also on the way. The first is an art book compiling all of the game’s official illustrations alongside previously unseen artwork by Tetsuya Nomura. The second is a commemorative album celebrating FFX’s 25th anniversary, retelling the full story of the game with high-definition remastered visuals. Both are set to launch on July 3rd, priced at ¥2,750 and ¥3,520 respectively (around $18 and $23), through the official Square Enix store.

New Artwork by Tetsuya Normura

Must-haves for the fans

Finally, for the musically inclined, three new vinyl records are in the works. The first, priced at ¥9,350 (around $62), collects 20 tracks from the FFX soundtrack spread across two discs. The second, dedicated to the iconic piece “To Zanarkand,” brings together 15 different arrangements of the track for ¥2,420 (around $16). The third, titled “House Grooves,” reimagines 12 FFX songs through a deep house lens, available for ¥3,300 (around $22). And as Square Enix makes clear, this is only the beginning.

Source: FFX website

[1
106,107,109,108,143
post-73011","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-ffx","tag-final-fantasy","tag-goodies","tag-merch","tag-square-enix","generate-columns","tablet-grid-50","mobile-grid-100","grid-parent","grid-33
["GET
