Fans are desperate to see gameplay or simply uncover story details. That excitement has occasionally crossed the line: in 2022, a hacker breached Rockstar’s systems and leaked dozens of images and development materials, one of the largest leaks the industry had ever seen. Now, recent claims suggest the situation could be even more serious.

GTA 6 source code allegedly circulating

The report comes from Videotechuk_, a well-known figure in the Rockstar community, who shared the claims on social media. According to him, screenshots of a WhatsApp conversation involving Arion Kurtaj, the teenager behind the 2022 hack, have started circulating online. These messages allegedly indicate that the entire source code of GTA 6 may now be in the hands of a third party somewhere in the world. Kurtaj, currently in detention, reportedly obtained a phone and used it to communicate from prison, expressing surprise that the code had not yet leaked publicly.

If true, the implications would be disastrous for Rockstar. Beyond spoiling major portions of the game, access to the source code could allow hackers or modders to analyze the game’s systems months before its release. A leak of this magnitude could also disrupt the final stages of development. GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, and a serious security breach could force Rockstar to reinforce its infrastructure, potentially delaying the launch. After years of anticipation, another delay would be a bitter blow for fans.

Here's the messages on GTAVI:

I am avoiding sending screenshots since I don't want any DMCA takedown https://t.co/DwNeFPysuL pic.twitter.com/B1xhr7GcaV
— ben (@videotechuk_) March 8, 2026

It’s important to note that none of these claims have been verified. There is no concrete evidence that GTA 6’s source code is actually circulating. Videotechuk_ also claimed Kurtaj shared photos from his prison cell to confirm his involvement, but whether this is genuine or a bid for attention remains uncertain. Until more reliable confirmation appears, these reports should be treated with caution. For Rockstar, and for millions of players eager to play it, let’s hope this is simply smoke without fire.

Source: Videotechuk_

[1
45,46,90
post-72568","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-gta","tag-gta-6","tag-rumor","generate-columns","tablet-grid-50","mobile-grid-100","grid-parent","grid-33
["GET
