While we know that Crystal Dynamics is working on the game, ongoing layoffs and various projects tied to the franchise coming and going have understandably left fans worried. That said, things do seem to be gradually falling into place for the franchise. A Tomb Raider series is currently in development for Prime Video, and it seems the game has not been directly affected by the staffing changes. However, with so little concrete information available, a recent revelation has left many players feeling uneasy.

Official News That’s Dividing Fans About the Next Tomb Raider

Amazon, Embracer, and Crystal Dynamics are planning major changes for the entire Tomb Raider franchise. While the series is definitely set to expand, thanks to Story Kitchen, Amazon’s partner producing the show, we’ve learned new details and it’s unclear whether this is a positive move. The company has hinted that the game and the series, directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), will be closely intertwined narratively. It has been explicitly stated that the two projects will be interconnected.

Instead of merely being canonical, the series may serve as either a sequel or prequel to the game, or vice versa. Character relationships could evolve in both, and the stories are likely to overlap. It’s also possible that Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones, X-Men), who is officially the new Lara Croft for the series, could reprise her role in the game, given the narrative ambitions outlined by Story Kitchen.

For now, it’s all still speculation. We know very little officially about the game, other than that it will present a version of Lara Croft that resonates with fans from across the franchise’s history, spanning her ’90s adventures to the reboots of the 2000s and 2010s. However, it’s now confirmed that the game and the series will be interconnected in some way, though the full details are still unclear. We’re hopeful for more clarity in the coming days, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some big reveals at the Game Awards on December 11, 2025.

Source: Story Kitchen

[1
55
post-71870","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-tomb-raider","generate-columns","tablet-grid-50","mobile-grid-100","grid-parent","grid-33
["GET
