Sony is actively updating its consoles to add new features, refine existing ones, and improve overall performance, fix bugs, and more. On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the PS5 will receive a new update. Here\u2019s what you can expect from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">PS5 Update 25.08-12.40.00 Now Available<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The PlayStation 5 is now upgrading to version 25.08-12.40.00. A new update is available for download, although it may not be available in your region yet. Since the rollout is gradual, it might not have reached you by the time you read this. Once it\u2019s available, the download will start automatically when you power on the console or when it\u2019s in standby mode (if you\u2019ve enabled this feature). The update is relatively small, so the process shouldn\u2019t take long. This is a routine update designed to enhance the console&#8217;s performance. Don\u2019t expect any major new features or bug fixes.
