Every week without fail, the Epic Games Store drops free games for its users. Each Thursday, all you need to do is log into your account, also free, and add that week’s offering to your library, where it stays yours to keep forever. It’s always a great opportunity to discover something new and save a little money in the process. Just make sure you claim it before April 9th, after that, it’s gone.
A new free co-op game on the Epic Games Store
Last Thursday, the Epic Games Store treated players to two well-received free titles. This week, the selection is a little leaner, just one game on offer. But a free game is a free game, and this one is worth adding to your backlog. Keep your €17.99 in your pocket and pick up Clone Drone in the Danger Zone.
Developed by Doborog Games, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is a delightfully offbeat action title. Think real-life robot combat arenas, complete with enthusiastic commentators, transplanted into a video game. You’ll take control of a combat-ready robot and throw yourself into arena battles with everything you’ve got. Don’t let the low-poly voxel art style fool you, this one earned a warm reception during Early Access before landing on Xbox Game Pass in 2023, and sits at a solid 82/100 from critics and 7.7/10 from players on Metacritic. A genuinely good freebie.
