Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets Yet Another Minor Update 3 Years After Launch, Here’s What’s New

Good games age like fine wine, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is proving that point better than almost anything else out there. Larian’s 2023 Game of the Year has only grown better with time, and that process is still ongoing. Major content drops are firmly in the rearview mirror at this point, but that hasn’t stopped the studio from rolling out a new patch to tackle some genuinely annoying lingering issues.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still being refined 3 years on

It’s been official for a few months now: Larian is deep into development on the new Divinity. Even so, the studio hasn’t turned its back on the still-thriving Baldur’s Gate 3 community. The support team has been keeping a close eye on reported issues, and some of them have been significant enough to warrant attention, persistent crashes and visual bugs that had been disrupting playthroughs for too long.

Baldur’s Gate 3 ‘s Hotfix 36 is a minor patch by any measure, but a meaningful one. Larian has focused on shoring up stability across the board, eliminating several identified crash triggers in the process. Inventory and trading menu display issues have also been ironed out, and character creation on Mac has received specific attention for a smoother experience on Apple hardware.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 phenomenon may have cooled since its peak in 2023, but the game’s cult status remains completely intact. Few titles in recent memory have done more to open the C-RPG genre up to a mainstream audience, and none have done it quite so convincingly. If you’ve never played it, or never quite finished your playthrough, there’s never been a better time to jump in. The game has simply never been in better shape than it is right now.
