Things are definitely heating up on the Assassin’s Creed front these days. While rumors and speculations swirl around the franchise’s upcoming games, Ubisoft has decided to change the team in charge, welcoming a new, dynamic trio to its helm last week. Shortly after their arrival, it’s already time for them to address the future of the series, notably confirming a long-standing rumor: yes, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is a reality, among other big announcements around the famous franchise.
Ubisoft finally officially announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake
For many months now, rumors about the existence of this project have been circulating, without any official word from Ubisoft. However, the studio recently reconfirmed that several Assassin’s Creed games are currently in development, including titles like Hexe, Invictus, and Jade. In an article just published on the French giant’s official website, Jean Guesdon, the franchise’s new content director, gave fans long-awaited updates on this front.
Firstly and to justify the wait for each of these projects, announced several years ago, he explained that it was important for Ubisoft “to give each project the time it deserves and to offer it to players when it is truly ready“. This statement is far from innocuous, as it seems to directly echo the latest rumors surrounding Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, whose release was reportedly postponed at the last minute by Ubisoft internally.
Guesdon then continued: “Speculation surrounding Assassin’s Creed is nothing new, but it’s important to remember: ‘Nothing is true. Everything is possible’. Well… except that in this case, certain rumors are gaining traction, for good reason. Keep your eyes peeled”. And to go along with this mysterious yet crystal-clear message, an image of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake. Yes. It’s now official: the return of this iconic episode, renamed Black Flag Resynced for the occasion, is confirmed.

Other games are officially hidden under the hood for the franchise
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake was not the only game that finally had some more spotlight. Along a first officiel image of Resynced, Guedson also gave some updates about other games of the franchise still in development, such as Hexe, the next big project with a much somber tone and witchery ; Invictus, a multiplayer title made by veterans of For Honor ; Jade, the mobile episode set in China and also an upcoming free patch to make Unity run at 60 FPS on current-gen hardware.
