Resident Evil : the next DLC and the new remake have already leaked, fans rejoice !

Released not even a week ago, Resident Evil Requiem is already breaking records. Sales figures, ratings… the latest release from Capcom proves once again the enthusiasm surrounding the legendary survival horror franchise, thirty years after its debut. The Japanese publisher understands this well and intends to give fans their money’s worth. Other surprises are rumored to be on the way, and that’s exactly what a large part of the community is hoping for.

Resident Evil definitely did not have its Requiem yet

With nearly 100,000 concurrent players on Steam at the time of writing, Resident Evil Requiem is currently capturing a major portion of gamers’ attention. By bringing Leon, the protagonist of three previous installments, including RE4, considered to be one of the best games of all time, back into the spotlight and offering a dual gameplay experience that skillfully blends tension and action, Capcom may have delivered the magnum opus of its survival horror formula. Due to this, the enthusiasm for the franchise is expected to continue for quite a while.

According to the notorious leaker Dusk Golem, also known as AestheticGamer on social media, Capcom has yet some exciting surprises in store for the saga. While somewhat expected, given the recent mainline entries, it seems the work has already begun on a DLC for Resident Evil Requiem. No further details are yet available, except that it’s highly likely to be released this year, and for good reason.

According to Dusk Golem’s sources, the next Resident Evil remake is also in the works. The leaker claims, once again, that this overhaul will indeed concern the highly acclaimed Code Veronica, expected in 2027. He even offers his own theories, suggesting the possibility of introducing the Spencer Mansion from the first Resident Evil in the potential Requiem DLC. This would be a way to bridge the gap before the arrival of the upcoming remake and then lead into a re-release of the first game.

A logical sequence that would allow newcomers to the franchise to become familiar with the location beforehand. All of this is naturally to be taken with a grain of salt as it is just speculation. Nevertheless, the future of Resident Evil definitely appears to be bright.
