Amid a flood of high-profile announcements, one title quietly stole the show as it resonated with Metal Gear Solid fans. Its longtime publisher, Konami, pulled an unexpected surprise out of the bag, and it’s arriving sooner than you might think.
Konami reveals a new title for stealth and Metal Gear Solid fans
Konami came prepared for the first State of Play of 2026. Alongside a new Castlevania project and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, stealth enthusiasts were treated to a fresh look at Darwin’s Paradox!. First unveiled during the 2025 State of Play, the game made a strong impression with its latest trailer. Developed by French studio ZDT Studio and published by Konami, this narrative-driven platform adventure appears even more promising than before. And for good reason: the new footage was packed with clear nods to the Metal Gear Solid franchise.
Stealth and infiltration are central to the experience. While the game embraces a distinctive and slightly humorous identity, the trailer featured an explicit homage to Metal Gear Solid, widely regarded as a reference of the genre. Certain mechanics and cinematic moments seem directly inspired by the legendary franchise. ZDT Studio even describes the project as « a tribute to a snake from an octopus », the snake, of course, being a reference to Solid Snake.
In short, if you grew up with Metal Gear Solid, Darwin’s Paradox! is a title to keep firmly on your radar in 2026. It launches on April 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A free demo is already available across all platforms, offering an early glimpse at what could be a stealth-infused sleeper hit.
