On February 21, 2026, the The Legend of Zelda franchise will celebrate its 40th anniversary, a milestone eagerly awaited by fans, who hope Nintendo will mark the occasion with some surprise announcements. A new game, remasters of Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker, which have been rumored for years, or even the first official look at the live-action movie currently in production… Expectations are running high for this landmark date. While Nintendo is keeping a relatively low profile for now, it has still rolled out two new updates. One for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and one for TOTK

Two New Updates for Zelda

Since their re-release on the Nintendo Switch 2, the latest mainline Zelda games have received occasional minor updates. On February 18, 2026, two new patches were released on both consoles. For both The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and TOTK, these updates are mostly routine, with no major changes to gameplay. In Tears of the Kingdom, players who defeated the Black Hinox at Hyrule Castle without receiving the promised medal can now finally claim their reward. Below is a breakdown of the changes introduced by these updates for Zelda TOTK and Breath of the Wild:

Tears of the Kingdom : Version 1.4.3

  • Fixed an issue causing the Black Hinox in Hyrule Castle to appear as undefeated even after being defeated, preventing players from obtaining the Hinox Monster Medal.
    • By downloading the update data, players will be able to obtain the Hinox Monster Medal.
  • Several other issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience.

Zelda Breath of the Wild : Version 1.9.0

The following updates have been made when playing the game on Nintendo Switch 2:

  • Added Thai as a supported language. If you set the language to “Thai/English” in the Nintendo Switch 2 system, the text will become Thai.
    • The audio language does not support Thai, so if you select “Match System Settings” from the “Options” in the game, it will be in English.
