If You’re a Fire Emblem Fan, This Game Is a Must-Watch

Fans of Nintendo‘s iconic tactical saga were taken aback when a new title was revealed during Sony’s presentation. This wasn’t just another announcement, it signaled the revival of a cult strategy RPG universe with an all-new installment. Officially unveiled during the broadcast, Brigandine makes its comeback with a new chapter, Brigandine: Abyss, a project that should strongly appeal to Fire Emblem fans.

Introduced midway through the conference, Brigandine: Abyss builds on the series’ classic tactical RPG foundations. Players are transported to a continent threatened by the Abyssloa Empire, a regime determined to conquer the world. It falls to you and your chosen faction to halt the invasion through careful resource management, monster recruitment, and finely tuned strategic planning.

A Beloved Fire Emblem-like Franchise Returns

Brigandine: Abyss will feature six distinct story campaigns, each focusing on different rulers and perspectives. Every path introduces unique characters and narrative arcs, encouraging multiple playthroughs. For those seeking a more traditional format, publisher Happinet has confirmed the inclusion of a Mission Mode, where players can choose from 24 playable factions. Those factions promise a wide range of tactical approaches. Before each battle, players will organize their armies, weighing unit stats, spells, and special abilities. Once preparations are complete, combat unfolds across large hex-based maps, a signature element of the franchise that will please Fire Emblem fans.

Excitement surrounding the announcement is also fueled by the experienced team behind the project. Development is led by Makoto Yamamoto (Sengoku BASARA), joined by industry veterans Masayuki Horikawa and Niji Hayashi, both of whom previously worked on Fire Emblem titles. The soundtrack will be composed by Rei Kondoh (Okami, Bayonetta, Fire Emblem: Three Houses). With such seasoned talent on board, Brigandine: Abyss is already shaping up to be one of 2026’s most anticipated strategy RPGs. The game is scheduled for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
