Ubisoft’s curse continues. The French publisher and secrecy seem locked in a never-ending game of cat and mouse. It’s becoming increasingly rare for the company to truly surprise its players with major announcements. More often than not, an insider leak, a slip from an official store, a rating agency, or even Ubisoft itself ends up spoiling the surprise. The existence of the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is now an open secret, as all the latest leaks have been confirmed.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is real
As is often the case, the first concrete confirmations come from rating agencies. PEGI recently listed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on its official website, a title that’s been circulating for some time as the rumored name for the remake of one of the franchise’s most beloved entries. Such administrative listings typically appear just ahead of major announcements, confirming much of what the rumors had already suggested. With the 2025 Game Awards on the horizon, it seems increasingly likely that the remake will be officially unveiled during the ceremony.
According to reliable sources, this Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake will take on a more RPG-driven approach, much like recent titles in the series such as AC Shadows. Among the rumored changes is the introduction of a loot system for weapons and outfits in the likes of the last games, as well as the removal of segments set in the present day. The remake is also expected to offer around four hours of new content, likely consisting of cut material from the original game.
Graphically and technically, players can expect enhancements similar to those seen in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, including an upgraded weather system. The menus will be redesigned to align with modern trends, and while the map will remain the same size as the original, it will feature much more detail and additional activities to explore. According to insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft plans to release the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake by the end of March 2026 at the latest. So, mark your calendars for December 11, 2025, when the official announcement is expected, one that now seems virtually inevitable.
