Kratos won’t be the only powerhouse on screen in Amazon’s upcoming God of War series. While production has yet to officially begin, behind-the-scenes work is already in full swing, and the cast is growing with some highly anticipated names. Two major characters from the latest God of War games, Odin and Baldur, are set to make their screen debut, and the casting of these iconic figures is already stirring up excitement. Early signs are promising, and fans are eager to see how these legendary roles will be brought to life.
These Actors Might Be Cast as Thor and Baldur in the God of War Series
The live-action God of War series, first announced in 2022, has been progressing slowly, with few official details released so far. However, it is widely expected that the series will adapt the Norse saga of the God of War franchise, which began with the 2018 game and continued in God of War Ragnarok. This theory is supported by recent rumors from a trusted Hollywood insider, Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK on social media), who has shared the names of two actors reportedly in talks to join the cast.
Richtman’s first casting revelation is that Max Parker has been approached to play Baldur. The 33-year-old British actor, known for his roles in the Netflix military drama Boots and the Peacock fantasy series Vampire Academy, remains relatively unknown to mainstream audiences. However, if he secures the role of the 2018 God of War antagonist, it could significantly boost his career. With his physicality, Parker seems like a natural fit for Baldur, capturing the character’s intimidating and dangerous presence.
The second actor reportedly in the running is Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, a 52-year-old Icelandic-American actor rumored to be cast in a key divine role. Known for his commanding presence and magnetic charisma, Ólafsson has made a strong impression in series like Trapped and Severance. His imposing stature and dramatic range make him an excellent candidate for the role of Odin, the Allfather of Norse mythology. With his ability to project authority and depth, he seems perfectly suited to bring the complex, powerful character of Odin to life with the gravitas the role demands.
