Fans of Animal Crossing New Horizons can finally breathe a sigh of relief. After six years of waiting and speculating, you might not have noticed it in the long trailer revealing the free 3.0 update and the Nintendo Switch 2 version, but Nintendo has quietly confirmed the arrival of several fan-requested features that have been long overdue.
The New Features We’ve All Been Waiting For
The most anticipated addition? Batch crafting. Yes, the time-consuming process of crafting items one by one is finally coming to an end. As part of the Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade, players will now be able to craft multiple items at once using materials from their stockpile. No more endless hours of repeating the same crafting animation. This update will save tons of time, especially for those who love decorating, building, or optimizing their island.
While it may seem like a small feature on paper, its impact will be huge for many players. Since the launch of New Horizons in 2020, the lack of batch crafting has been a constant source of frustration and a bit of a running joke within the community. Crafting Made Easier
And that’s not all. Fans will finally be able to craft directly from their storage. This long-awaited update will be available for free starting January 15, 2026, when the new Nintendo Switch 2 version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is released.

With batch crafting, Resetti’s new Reset Service, improved multiplayer, and numerous other enhancements, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is set to become an even more beloved title when the Nintendo Switch 2 edition releases in January 2026.
